Hello C3C4!
The cool Lim Jia Xin from F1 is here to rock this blog more! hahaha.
Anyway, I'm at Khatib macs together with joker Cheryl Chan from F2, Minyang from C3, Kianleng and Swee Wei Jie from C7! :D
We're supposed to be studying, and as you can see,
SUPPOSED.
But everyone's slacking now.
Okay, Cheryl just said this: EH NO HOR! Everyone except me hor! Must make me appear good.
(Yea now everyone, you see Cheryl's true colours.)
And now, Cheryl has abandoned her Chemistry assessment book aka ten years series and is leaning over to see what I'm typing. And she just protested that she did not abandon her Chemistry notes.
Okay, Cheryl said we must talk bad about Kianleng also, so here it goes.
Kianleng just said "Kianleng is very focussed in his math"
And Minyang just said, "Only Minyang is busy studying", and Minyang is like folding his arms and looking at wat I'm typing too la. But minyang has the right to do so because he has finished his blocks and so it is ok to fold his arms and look.
STUDYING SIA.
And Cheryl said we must talk bad about Swee Wei Jie also!
Actually I think don't have anything to talk bad about him leh, cos he's very quiet. (Okay, Swee Wei Jie is smiling to himself now and just said "I'm doing my thing lo!")
For those of you who haven't studied at Khatib Macs with us before, you must ok!
Cheryl wanted me to say "The hardworking Cheryl has too many post-its and decided to donate some to Macdonalds"
And the random Kian Leng just said, "I realised that you cannot smash an ant from high altitude because they are simply too light to be smashed by their own body weight."
And Minyang just added, "Because they have small relative mass, and F=MA, taking A as gravity, AKA 9.81ms^-2 with a small mass they cannot be killed by high altitude because the force is too little."
Okay, I don't know what they are talking about now, but Chan Hui Min wanted me to end off this post by saying,
"From here we are learning some Physics and can apply it to our O levels... As well as Sec 2 streaming."

i read this devotion yesterday night and i thought it was pretty good. well, it was very relevant to wht im gng through now, needing to resist temptations tht come flying by. i was debating whether to go you-knw-whr, cause its my closefriend's party and im on guestlist. and he has been bugging me for ages non-top. hurrr.... but luckily, i decided tht once i set my way onward the cross, theres no turning back. phew...
luke 4:7
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
whn was the last time you tried to open a jar and cldnt open it? whn was the last time you tried to lift a heavy item? well, theres hope for you.
charles atlas was a famous weakling who became a famous bodybuilder! (betcha didnt knw tht, hahah! i didnt either) he developed a system for building strength tht relied on smthng called isometrics exercises. these exercises are very good for building strength.
the basic idea is to find smthg tht wnt move whn you push, pull or try to lift it. thn you try to push, pull or lift it. hahaha! sounds pretty silly. but tht's the way it works. for examplesay you wna work the muscles on your arm strength...
put your palms tght in frnt of you at abt the level of your chest. push your hands tght as hard as you can! (you can do it repeatedly in short spurts or in one lng press). now for those who wna be buff............ haha
if you do these exercises a few times, you will feel sm muscles start to hurt. they are being exercised, evnthough you hands and arms are not moving.
if you try the exercises for a few days thn try to open that jar agn/lift the heavy box. you'll be surprise at the difference isometric exercise can make. thts because your newfound strength comes frm doing exercises tht build muscles by using resistance against those muscles.
well, temptations are kind of like isometric exercises for you spiritual muscles. with evry temptation you resist, you become stronger. the resistance is wht builds strength, whther the muscle are physical or spiritual. as we build your physical muscle, you'll find that jars are easier to open and boxes easily to lift. as you build your spiritual muscle, you'll find that temptations also become easier to resist.
so why not get started now? flex your spiritual muscles, resist the temptation whnever it comes your way today, and watch yourself (with God's help) growing stronger and stronger!
thn i was thking and praying abt it, whether to go or not. God's presnce was so strng. it was tangible. i decided to do my bp, and it was hebrews 5. its like a warning against falling away. wahhhh, man!
oh this part was inculded at the bottom of the devotion, i thought it might be useful. its like a reflection thg. wht temptations are the hardest for you to resist right now? do you thk you cld resist each temptation once today? concentrate on resisting temptation( with God's help) the first time it strikes today, thn use that success to resist it the second time and so on...
jiayou, c3 and c4. we can do it (: resist temptations! evnthough we may seem small and weak on the outside. we must build our spiritual muscles on the inside. make it way bigger, flex it infrnt the devil and he will RUNNNNNNNNNNNNN..... muahahah!
XOXO, khoo

hi guys!
Red Rain is over... But i hope what we bring home from that concert is not just the fun memories we had before/at/after the concert. I believe many of us have felt the strong and sweet presence of God during the concert. Let's not forget the feeling now that the concert is over but let that presence whet our appetite, to make us even more hungry for God!
I know many of our friends backed out at the last minute and as a result missed the concert. But let's not be discouraged! The real work of Red Rain concert is not the inviting of your friends for Red Rain (though that is VERY impt), but the real work starts now!!! Now is the time to really contact all our friends who came for red rain! IT'S TIME FOR HARVEST!
Personally, i was also saved through Red Rain about 3 years ago. And what brought me back was (sadly to say) not God's presence but the PEOPLE of heart of God church! I rmbed the friendliness of these people. But still I was hesitant to come back to church.
But one day, on the TV, i saw an advertisement for the album "WOW Worship 3" and in that album was the song "Here I am to Worship". That is also one of the very few songs I rmbed from the concert. And hearing that song, I began to feel even more like coming to church, to see those friendly people again!
It was amazing how I came back to church, now that I think back about it. Because I realised that after that period of time, I never saw another Christian advertisement on TV again! That must have been God's way of bringing me back to His embrace.
But really, though the advertisement was partly responsible of bringing me back to church, it is the warmth of the people that kept me coming week after week! Without them, I wouldn't be here right now, blogging this post! Hahah.
So guys! Each and every single one of you are impt! You guys are going to be the ones who will attract our friends back to church! So, like what Ivan said during prayer meeting last week, let's really take up our own responsibilities to pray for our friends and bring them back to Christ, Amen?
C3C4, you guys rock my life!

C3C4!
Redrain's awesome!
Hope all of you enjoyed it. I'm sure God did speak to some of us :D
It's great that most or all of you brought friends!
Though the concert is over, let's still lift them up in prayer. I'm sure some of them have the desire to come back to church. Let's have even greater faith in God because through him, all things are possible :D
Though some of our friends backed out at the last moment, don't be discouraged.
God desires for all men to be saved, its his will! So perhaps, it isn't the right time yet. Prayer's powerful, so PRAY!
We have to get ALL the int back some day!
it'll be soon. =D

Hello C3C4! Red Rain is finally here!
This will be the last power pack event of this holiday but it will never be the last event.
Let's all really pray for good grounds and many salvations (though you may only read this on saturday night).
Also, let's see the number of lifes changed in our hearts and trust God for that.
You just got to imagine the broken life changed thru your prayers, evangelism and integration.
I believed that is a story to tell behind every face you see just like you and me but the ending of the story will never be the same if they can walk towards God like you and me =)

Hey C3C4! wow redrain concert is tomorrow! redrain is really the perfect time to reach out to all your unsaved friends. it only takes a little initiative and faith to drop your friends a sms/call to ask them to come to church! souls are at stake and we can make a difference! it really is worth it when you see the friend you brought serving in ministry or just hanging out at church, having fun. it feels even better to know that you've placed a helping hand in building God's kingdom! YOU ALL HAVE BEEN AWESOME! <33
LETS INVITE OUR FRIENDS FOR REDRAIN!

hey everyone!
whoa let me carry on with my reflections on the school seminar we just had with our beloved Pastor Joakim. I'm sure a lot of us who are present are impacted greatly by the seminar, and have learnt a lot from him. Pst Joakim rocks man!
Personally, i feel that the school semina is very concise and easy-to-understand, with practical issues for us to deal with in the process of inviting our school friends to hoGc.
During session 4, Pst Joakim spoke about connecting generations, which i feel is a very relevant topic in our lives. In a nation with a first-class economy, our nation had developed with a rapid pace for the past few decades, and indeed a lot of things have changed since then, and how we live our lives now as compared to, say our parents, are undoubtedly different. Under such a situation, it is inevitable that sometimes, we find it hard to share the same perspectives with older generations, which leads to the well-coined term "generation gap". This is the devil's ultimate aim, to keep generations separate.
However, how many of you all know that we are all carriers of the same promise of God, and for every differences we have, there is bound to be a similarity amongst us. As hard as some may deny, it is certain that we do think alike our parents, with their influence over us since our birth. This is God's plan, for generations to understand one another, and for us to be able to communicate our thoughts. When generations connect, the Holy Spirit will fall upon us.
As elder brothers and sisters in Christ, we have to recognise seeds of God sown in younger generations, and be willing to guide and give them a helping hand whenever they are in need. Remember how your friend who invited you to church, or even your ex-team leader (you are lucky if yours is still the same person) guide, motivate, encourage, challenge you in your race in Christ, and how blessed you feel then? You can be that person now too!
Haha. Let us continue running this race with conviction and determination, but also don't forget to have compassion for others. C3C4 rock on!

Hey guys, minyang here. Just post a story that can be found in Jiaxin's blog. some of you might have read it but nvm, i have posted my opinions at the bottom, please take a look.
-------------------
After a few of the usual Sunday evening hymns, the church's Pastor slowly stood up, walked over to the pulpit and, before he gave his sermon for the evening, briefly introduced a guest Minister who was in the service that evening. In the introduction, the Pastor told the congregation that the guest Minister was one of his dearest childhood friends and that he wanted him to have a few moments to greet the church and share whatever he felt would be appropriate for the service. With that, the elderly gentleman stepped up to the pulpit and began to speak.
"A father, and his son, and a friend of his son were sailing off the Pacific coast," he began... "when a fast storm blocked any attempt to get back to the shore. The waves were so high, even though the father was an experienced sailor, he could not keep the boat upright and the three were swept into the ocean as the boat capsized."The old man hesitated for a moment, making eye contact with two teenagers who were, for the first time since the service began, looking somewhat interested in his story.
The aged minister continued with his story..."Grabbing a rescue line, the father had to make the most excruciating decision of his life: to which boy would he throw the end of the life line? He had only seconds to make the decision. The father knew that his son was a Christian and he also knew that his son's friend was not.
The agony of his decision could not be matched by the torrent of waves. As the father yelled out 'I Love You, Son!' he threw out the life line to his son's friend. By the time the father had pulled the friend back to the capsized boat his son had disappeared beneath the raging swells into the black night. His body was never recovered," the old man said sadly.By this time, the two teenagers were sitting up straight in the pew, anxiously waiting for the next words to come out of the old Minister's mouth.
"The father," he continued, "knew his son would step into eternity with Jesus and he could not bear the thought of his son's friend stepping into an eternity without Jesus. Therefore, he sacrificed is son to save the son's friend. How great is the love of God that he should do the same for us? Our Heavenly Father sacrificed His only begotten Son so that we could be saved. I urge you to accept His offer to rescue you and take hold of the life line He is throwing out to you in this service."
With that, the old man turned and sat back down in his chair as silence filled the room. The Pastor again walked slowly to the pulpit and delivered a brief sermon with an invitation at the end. However, no one responded to the appeal. But, within moments after the service ended, the two boys were at the old man's side.
"That was a nice story," politely stated one of the boys, "but, I don't think it was very realistic for a father to give up his only son's life in hopes that the other would become a Christian.""Well, you've got a point there," the old man replied, glancing down at his worn Bible. As a big smile broadened his narrow face, he looked up again at the boys and said, "It sure isn't very realistic, is it?
But, I'm here today to tell you this story gives me a glimpse of what it must have been like for God to give up His only Son for me. You see... I was that father, and your Pastor is my son's friend."
---------------------------------------
What a beautiful story of a sacrifice! Could you imagine if the old man went to saved his own son instead, then one more person who have no chance to hear the gospel will go to hell.
More than that, I want to paint a picture to you about bringing friends to Christ. C3c4, and the window of opportunity is here! Red Rain is coming to town! Let's really go out and invite all our friends!". but more than just having fun getting all our friends to a rock concert, we must also catch the heart of it amen?
The unsaved man became a pastor of a church, people come to his church, people listen to his preachings. Im sure many people were saved because of him.
To think that so many years ago, the very same guy, still unsaved, was trapped amongst the waves, the only person that could save him was his friend's father. Yet the father saved him. What does it tell? The father is more interested in that that was lost.
The reward was more than just getting one lost soul saved. Not just one! But many more! The guy has become a pastor, and he is able to guide more people to Christ through his works...
While inviting friends for Redrain concert, begin to not just see one person save, but start to imagine, start to see he or she become a pastor, a worship leader, a musician, a leader. Who knows, the next Charleston, Ivan, Roy, Jian Ming, Dominic could be coming out from this years Redrain concert.
Still 2 more days to Redrain concert, let us not give up on seeking those that have yet to hear the gospel Amen? Be like the old man, have a heart for the lost, have a heart of God.

The Matchless Pearl
-- Author Unknown
David Morse - American missionary to India - became great friends there with the pearl-diver, Rambhau. Many an evening he spent in Rambhau's cabin reading to him from the Bible, and explaining to him God's way of salvation.
Rambhau enjoyed listening to the Word of God, but whenever the missionary tried to get Rambhau to accept Christ as his Savior - he would shake his head and reply, "Your Christian way to heaven is too easy for me! I cannot accept it. If ever I should find admittance to heaven in that manner - I would feel like a pauper there...like a beggar who has been let in out of pity. I may be proud - but I want to deserve, I want to earn my place in heaven -- and so I am going to work for it."
Nothing the missionary could say seemed to have any effect on Rambhau's decision, and so quite a few years slipped by.
One evening, however, the missionary heard a knock on his door, and on going to open it he found Rambhau there.
"Come in, dear friend," said Morse.
"No," said the pearl-diver. "I want you to come with me to my house, Sahib, for a short time -- I have something to show you. Please do not say 'No'."
"Of course I'll come," replied the missionary. As they neared his house, Rambhau said: "In a week's time I start working for my place in heaven; I am leaving for Delhi -- and I am going there on my knees."
"Man, you are crazy! It's nine hundred miles to Delhi, and the skin will break on your knees, and you will have blood-poisoning or leprosy before you get to Bombay."
"No, I must get to Delhi," affirmed Rambhau, "and the immortals will reward me for it! The suffering will be sweet - for it will purchase heaven for me!"
"Rambhau, my friend - you can't. How can I bear you to do it - when Jesus Christ has suffered and died to purchase heaven for you!" But the old man could not be moved.
"You are my dearest friend on earth, Sahib Morse. Through all these years you have stood by me in sickness, in want - you have been sometimes my only friend. But even you cannot turn me from my desire to purchase eternal bliss...I must go to Delhi!"
Inside the hut Morse was seated in the very chair Rambhau had specially built for him - where on so many occasions he had read to him the Bible. Rambhau left the room to return soon with a small but heavy English strongbox.
"I have had this box for years," said he, "and I keep only one thing in it. Now I will tell you about it, Sahib Morse. I once had a son..."
"A son! Why, Rambhau, you have never before said a word about him!"
"No, Sahib, I couldn't." Even as he spoke the diver's eyes were moistened.
"Now I must tell you, for soon I will leave, and who knows whether I shall ever return? My son was a diver too. He was the best pearl diver on the coasts of India. He had the swiftest dive, the keenest eye, the strongest arm, the longest breath of any man who ever sought for pearls. What joy he brought to me! Most pearls, as you know, have some defect or blemish only the expert can discern, but my boy always dreamed of finding the 'perfect' pearl - one beyond all that was ever found. One day he found it! But even when he saw it - he had been under water too long... That pearl cost him his life, for he died soon after."
The old pearl diver bowed his head. For a moment his whole body shook, but there was no sound.
"All these years," he continued, "I have kept this pearl - but now I am going, not to return, and to you, my best friend - I am giving my pearl."
The old man worked the combination on the strongbox and drew from it a carefully wrapped package. Gently opening the cotton, he picked up a mammoth pearl and placed it in the hand of the missionary. It was one of the largest pearls ever found off the coast of India, and glowed with a luster and brilliance never seen in cultured pearls. It would have brought a fabulous sum in any market.
For a moment the missionary was speechless and gazed with awe. "Rambhau! What a pearl!"
"That pearl, Sahib, is perfect," replied the Indian quietly. The missionary looked up quickly with a new thought: Was not this the very opportunity and occasion he had prayed for - to make Rambhau understand the value of Christ's sacrifice?
So he said, designedly, "Rambhau, this is a wonderful pearl, an amazing pearl. Let me buy it. I would give you ten thousand dollars for it."
"Sahib! What do you mean?" "Well, I will give you fifteen thousand dollars for it, or if it takes more - I will work for it."
"Sahib," said Rambhau, stiffening his whole body, "this pearl is beyond price. No man in all the world has money enough to pay what this pearl is worth to me. On the market a million dollars could not buy it. I will not sell it to you. You may only have it as a gift."
"No, Rambhau, I cannot accept that. As much as I want the pearl, I cannot accept it that way. Perhaps I am proud, but that is too easy. I must pay for it, or work for it..."
The old pearl-diver was stunned. "You don't understand at all, Sahib. Don't you see. My only son gave his life to get this pearl, and I wouldn't sell it for any money. Its worth is in the life-blood of my son. I cannot sell this - but I can give it to you. Just accept it in token of the love I bear you." The missionary was choked, and for a moment could not speak. Then he gripped the hand of the old man.
"Rambhau," he said in a low voice, "don't you see? My words are just what you have been saying to God all the time." The diver looked long and searchingly at the missionary, and slowly, slowly he began to understand.
"God is offering you salvation as a free gift," said the missionary. "It is so great and priceless that no man on earth can buy it. Millions of dollars are too little. No man on earth could earn it. His life would be millions of years too short. No man is good enough to deserve it. It cost God the life-blood of His only Son to make the entrance for you into heaven. In a million years, in a hundred pilgrimages, you could not earn that entrance. All you can do is to accept it as a token of God's love for you - a sinner.
"Rambhau, of course I will accept the pearl in deep humility, praying God that I may be worthy of your love. Rambhau, won't you accept God's great gift of heaven, too, in deep humility, knowing it cost Him the death of His Son to offer it to you?"
Great tears were now rolling down the cheeks of the old man. The veil was beginning to lift. "Sahib, I see it now. I have believed in the doctrine of Jesus for the last two years, but I could not believe that His salvation was free. Now I understand. Some things are too priceless to be bought or earned. Sahib, I will accept His salvation!"
